Hand in hand with BHA’s mission to provide affordable housing, the Resident Services staff is committed to help residents on the path towards self-sufficiency. The Resident Services Department helps residents overcome obstacles and reach their goals. To ensure that residents receive the assistance they need, BHA partners with the Regional Office of Education, Career Link, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), University of Illinois Cooperative Extension and many others.
Neighborhood Network Computer Labs
Bloomington Housing Authority has 2 computer labs for the convenience of our residents. They are located at Wood Hill Towers and the Robert Bowen Center in Holton Homes. The computer labs offer computer classes, after-school programs, nutrition programs, income tax assistance, assistance with resume development, employment search and much more. The labs also host special events such as Health Fairs, Back to School parties and Family Fun Nights.
Youth and Family Programs
Youth ages 5 and up are invited to participate in our after-school tutoring program. After tutoring, the students participate in the “Best of All” 4H Club. Every spring, Holton Homes hosts the Junior Master Gardener program where families are encouraged to come out and learn about gardening and how to grow a vegetable garden.
